OUR STORY

Since 1996, BLCI has been breaking the cycle of poverty by preparing underserved students to be the first in their families to go to college. To date, 100% of students who have completed the program have graduated from high school and enrolled in college.

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to break the cycle of poverty by preparing underserved students to be the first in their families to go to and graduate from college through no-cost after school programs that begin in third grade.

THE NEED

Economic challenges and rising operational costs have resulted in a 30% increase per student, raising the cost for a year of programming from $5,000 to $6,5000 per student per year. Your support will help bridge the gap of increased program costs and ensure continued access to educational programming for San Diego County’s most impoverished and underserved youth.
